• Ms. Ashley

Ms. Ashley chose to become an early childhood educator because she has a passion for all children. Her goal is to encourage children to express individuality through artistic exploration and creativity. She helps infants learn to engage with others by talking with them; communicating through non-verbal gestures; telling stories and singing songs to model conversational skills; and using picture books to build associations between sounds, objects, and words. Ms. Ashley also helps infants improve mobility and coordination by supporting babies as they roll from side to side and learn to crawl, stand, and walk; and by supporting the development of motor skills with blocks and shape boards. She also ensures that she meets all children's individual needs for rest and nutrition.

 • Ms. Syeda

Ms. Syeda's goal is to provide age-appropriate activities and materials that help children develop confidence, self-esteem, and a love of learning. She uses storytelling and word games to help children practice imitating and responding, asking questions, and following simple directions; provides practice naming familiar items; and supports rich vocabulary development. Ms. Syeda looks forward to supporting all toddlers as they grow socially and emotionally.

 • Ms. Shelly

Ms. Shelly's goal is to increase children's language skills and help children experience a sense of community in her classroom. She guides children as they develop new physical abilities and express their own individuality through imaginative play, music, dancing, and outdoor fun. Ms. Shelly provides opportunities for children to practice sorting, matching, and categorizing while also providing blocks and math cards for children to use to learn counting, number identification, and patterning. Ms. Shelly also places a focus on age-appropriate problem resolution and, of course, making new friends! Children in her classroom strengthen large-motor skills with riding equipment, balls, and movement activities; improve fine-motor and eye-hand coordination through pouring, stringing, and (supervised) cutting activities; and develop coordination using beanbags, hula hoops, and balance beams. At meal time, Ms. Shelly encourages children to serve themselves so that they can begin developing self-reliance--but always gives a helping hand when someone needs it!
